Somehow, when the bubble is about to collapse, heat is produced; which leads to the ionization of a gas trapped within the bubble.

 

When the collapse happens, the heat and the gas get to emit some kind of light.

 

Scientists were really fascinated by the findings, and the phenomenon still remains as a freakish work of nature.
